The original by-laws of the organization restricted membership in the IPA to
physicians on staff at one specific hospital.
With market changes and reorganization of the IPA in
2004, the IPA created the
infrastructure necessary to support the operations of the organization as an
independent physician only lead organization.
The definition of eligible membership was expanded to
include a category of members regardless of
hospital affiliation to include also ancillary care providers,
chiropractic and vision care providers.
Professional Providers
All healthcare providers who are licensed in the State of are eligible for
participation. Physicians are not required to be board certified and membership
does not require affiliation with any specific
hospitals. The IPA does recognize and
directly credential non-physician
practitioners (i.e. nurse practitioners and
physician assistants) |
Specialty Network - The Chiropractic
Network.
A network of identified and credentialed
providers has been assembled as a
sub-network within the IPA.
Participation in the chiropractic network
requires additional criteria for
participation to include nomination from the
current chiropractic network. The
Chiropractic Network may have additional
initiatives and projects that are funded and
exist outside the scope of the IPA support.
